Oak Hill Academy won the last time they faced Washington and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Raiders blew past the Generals 15-7. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Kaelyn Pennington made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Katelyn Lewis was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Molly Aycock, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Oak Hill Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.
Oak Hill Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Looking ahead, Oak Hill Academy will face off against Heritage Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
