The Otay Ranch Mustangs will take on the Green Valley Gators in a tournament on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Otay Ranch 3.2, Green Valley 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Otay Ranch barely beat Steele Canyon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Cougars 14-3 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Otay Ranch gave Moyses Salido the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
