The Mt. Pleasant Vikings posted their closest victory since December 11, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past Geibel Catholic 42-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mt. Pleasant.
Despite the loss, Geibel Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Emma Larkin almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 53.8% of Geibel Catholic's points, marking the 18th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ava Partridge was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Mt. Pleasant's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Geibel Catholic, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Mt. Pleasant will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Geibel Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against the Maples at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
