The Kennedy Commanders will take on the Alameda Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Kennedy is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. They lost 25-12 to Pueblo East.

Alexiah Lunas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Genesis Lujan, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alameda, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past Jefferson 20-8 on Monday. Considering the Pirates have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Peyton Trujillo was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristell Guerra, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.
Alameda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.6.
Alameda has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kennedy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .575. However, it's not like Alameda struggles in that department as they've averaged .520. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kennedy couldn't quite finish off Alameda in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 and fell 19-17. Will the Commanders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
