The Laytonville Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 53-26 loss at the hands of Round Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laytonville in their matchups with Round Valley: they've now lost six in a row.
Round Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josey Spurlock out in front who scored seven points along with three steals. Spurlock is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Camryn Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Laytonville's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.9 points per game. As for Round Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.
Laytonville will head out on the road to challenge Potter Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Potter Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Round Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mendocino at 5:30 p.m.
