The North Shore Mustangs lost against the Beaumont United Timberwolves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. North Shore's tough 76-54 defeat to Beaumont United might stick with them for a while. North Shore has struggled against Beaumont United recently, as their contest on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, North Shore still got an impressive performance from Terrence ?tj? alford, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavien Watkins, who scored six points.
Leading Beaumont United to victory were Kayde Dotson and Clarence Payia. Dotson scored 21 points, while Payia scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Payia posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Weston Davis, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
North Shore has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season. As for Beaumont United, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 28-3.
North Shore will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against King at 7:00 p.m. Kingpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Shore in Texas (King is ranked 42nd, while North Shore is ranked 276th). As for Beaumont United, they will head out on the road to square off against Kingwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Beaumont United focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
