There's no place like home for the Hughson Huskies, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over Ripon on Tuesday. Given Hughson's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Ripon is ranked 753rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madi Duron was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareena Kang, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Hughson pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Ripon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Hughson will head out on the road to square off against Escalon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Escalon is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Ripon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ripon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
