Bethlehem Academy extended the longest winning streak in Gopher Valley A this week by beating Minnesota Valley Lutheran, 41-8. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
St. Clair moved up to 199 from 261 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cyclones were able to make the jump by beating United South Central 28-8.
Bethlehem Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kyle Filzen has thrown for 194 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Tim Angell has eight catches for 108 yards. Filzen also leads the league in rushing with 305 yards.
A big matchup in Gopher Valley A this week will be when Blooming Prairie takes on St. Clair. The Awesome Blossoms are in third place, while Jeff Tietje's team is in fourth place.
Blooming Prairie and Loyola played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Blooming Prairie eventually emerging with a 27-21 victory.
