There's no place like home for the South Mountain Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-47 win over North Canyon on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for South Mountain, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
South Mountain was led to victory by Bry'ann Wiley and Julia Abdelsalam. Wiley dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds, while Abdelsalam dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abdelsalam has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Martin, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
South Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for North Canyon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.
South Mountain will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. As for North Canyon, they will head out on the road to challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Wednesday.
