Given Southwest Virginia Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Christian Heritage Academy is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, New Covenant struggled with assists on Saturday (Blue Ridge Christian had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. New Covenant took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Ridge Christian.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jocelyn Walker, who scored nine points. Brielle Walker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Southwest Virginia Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for New Covenant, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
