Tomales is 0-10 against Technology since May of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Braves will welcome the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Tomales is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of Willits. Even if the Braves couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Stran Stevens was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Pelayo, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Technology). Everything went their way against Roseland Collegiate Prep on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-4 victory. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Tyler Scullion made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Technology is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-5 otherwise. Scullion was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Technology let Sean McGunagle and Damian Padilla run wild. McGunagle went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Padilla scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs McGunagle has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pablo Chinchilla, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Technology always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Technology's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Tomales, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tomales has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Technology struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
