Highland is 6-0 against the Dragons since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Highland Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Dover Dragons at 5:45 p.m. Dover took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, Highland beat the Bombers 59-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Highland.
Meanwhile, Dover's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They fell to Mount Academy 49-44. While losing is never fun, Dover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 733rd, while the Eagles are ranked 230th).
Despite their defeat, Dover saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kayden Brinson, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brinson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Justin Cardwell, who scored 13 points.
Dover struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mount Academy racked up 15 assists.
Highland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Dover, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.
Highland won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting on Tuesday, slipping by the Dragons 57-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
