The South Hills Huskies lost to the Ramona Rams back in November, but the South Hills Huskies didn't allow the Ramona Rams the same satisfaction on Saturday. South Hills came out on top against Ramona by a score of 53-41.
"Queen" Giselle Griego was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points.
Despite the loss, Ramona saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Molina dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Molina is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Akayla Chaple was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Even though they lost, Ramona were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Hills only posted an assist.
South Hills' win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Ramona, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Hills' road trip will continue as they head out to face West Covina at 5:00 p.m. on December 11th. West Covina has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 15. As for Ramona, they will head out on the road to face off against Flintridge Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
