After three games on the road, Riverview Sarasota is heading back home. They will take on The Clearwater Academy International Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
There was early excitement for Riverview Sarasota after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Berkeley Prep who ended up claiming the real prize. Riverview Sarasota took a 20-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berkeley Prep.
Meanwhile, Clearwater Academy International earned a 34-27 victory over Gray Collegiate Academy on Friday. 34 seems to be a good number for Clearwater Academy International as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Antwan Raymond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Raymond's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Tavauren Wilson ? got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Clearwater Academy International's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Evan Aubrey and Keyari James who racked up four sacks between them.
Clearwater Academy International's victory bumped their season record to 2-3 while Riverview Sarasota's loss dropped theirs to 3-3.
Friday's match will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Dj Johnson and Raymond. Johnson has put up some stellar numbers this year, and currently owns excellent season averages of 131.3 rushing yards per game this season. For his part, Raymond has averaged 215 rushing yards per game this season.
Riverview Sarasota took a serious blow against Clearwater Academy International when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 46-7. Can Riverview Sarasota avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
