The Antelope Valley Antelopes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Knight. Antelope Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Antelope Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ariana Soil. Despite the final result, she scored 38 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Soil has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Armani Avery, who scored ten points.
Antelope Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Knight, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antelope Valley will face off against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Palmdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1017th, while the Antelopes are ranked 400th). As for Knight, they will head out on the road to challenge the Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
