EA Sports is releasing its first college football video game in more than a decade.
Donovan Edwards of Michigan,
Quinn Ewers of Texas and
Travis Hunter of Colorado have been unveiled as the cover athletes.
The trio will be joined by more than 10,000 student-athletes who have opted in to have their identity used in EA Sports College Football 25, which will be released July 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X/S.
Last season Edwards and Ewers reached the College Football Playoff while Hunter was a sensation on both sides of the ball for Deion Sanders at Colorado. All three were named to the MaxPreps All-America team multiple times in high school.

Edwards was a five-star running back in the Class of 2021 at
West Bloomfield (Mich.), leading the school to its first state championship by rushing for 257 games and two touchdowns in the title game as a senior.
The Michigan star rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and scored 30 total touchdowns during the 2020 season. As a junior he had 1,239 rushing yards with 21 total touchdowns. Edwards joins Desmond Howard and Denard Robinson as Wolverines to be on the cover.
Ewers was the MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year at
Southlake Carroll (Southlake, Texas) in 2019 after throwing for more than 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns.
The gunslinger threw for 6,445 yards and 73 touchdowns in his two-year tenure as a high school starting quarterback. Following his junior season where he led the Dragons to the state title game, Ewers left high school a year early to enroll in college.
Ewers was the top recruit in the Class of 2021 ahead of Caleb Williams, who was just selected No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He joins Ricky Williams and Brian Orakpo as Texas players to be on the cover.
Hunter was the top prospect in the Class of 2022 at
Collins Hill (Suwanee, Ga.) and did it all on both sides of the ball. As a wide receiver and cornerback, Hunter led Collins Hill to its first state championship during his senior season.
His best year statistically came as a junior in 2020 when he had 137 receptions for 1,746 yards and 24 touchdowns on offense along with eight interceptions on defense. The big season led to him being named MaxPreps National Junior of the Year.
