The Bayfront Charter Sharks entered their tilt with the Escondido Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bayfront Charter sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-32 victory over Escondido on Monday.
Leading Bayfront Charter to victory were Karizma Garcia and Jaidyn Camiling. Garcia scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals, while Camiling scored 18 points along with 4 steals. The game was Camiling's third in a row with at least ten points. Julieana Enriquez was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaedyn Shepherd , who scored 4 points. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Reyes, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
Bayfront Charter's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Escondido, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Bayfront Charter will head out on the road to face off against Castle Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Escondido, they will square off against Valhalla at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Valhalla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday.
