Bernstein is on a three-game streak of home losses, Roybal a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Bernstein Dragons will take on the Roybal Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Bernstein suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-24 loss at the hands of Grand Terrace. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bernstein has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Marlin Mendez, who scored ten points. Odali Rivera was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Roybal was the victim of a tough 53-33 defeat at the hands of Robert F. Kennedy Community on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Roybal has suffered against Robert F. Kennedy Community since February 7, 2020.
Despite the loss, Roybal got a solid performance out of Angie Sebastian, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sebastian has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Carrillo, who scored six points.
Bernstein has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. As for Roybal, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Bernstein against Roybal in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 57-13 victory. Does Bernstein have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roybal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
