The Abington Heights Comets gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past Holy Redeemer with points to spare, taking the game 59-44. That's another feather in the cap for Abington Heights, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Holy Redeemer still got an impressive performance from Angelina Corridoni, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Chimock, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Abington Heights' victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Holy Redeemer, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abington Heights will be home for the holidays to greet Loyalsock Township at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Holy Redeemer will take on Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
