The Aragon Dons will venture away from home to face off against the Terra Nova Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Aragon hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
Aragon came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-1 to St. Ignatius College Preparatory. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Dons, who until this game were averaging four runs allowed.
Aragon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Chang, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Terra Nova made easy work of El Camino on Thursday and carried off a 15-2 victory. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.
Jesse Martinez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, JT Snead was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Luke Ornelas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Terra Nova always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Terra Nova's record is now 13-5-1. As for Aragon, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Everything went Aragon's way against Terra Nova in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Aragon made off with a 10-4 victory. Do the Dons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
