Central Mountain is 1-9 against the Seals since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Central Mountain Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Selinsgrove Seals at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, Central Mountain came up short against the Bulldogs and fell 50-37. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Mountain in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Selinsgrove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a 37-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewisburg. While losing is never fun, Selinsgrove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Green Dragons are ranked 227th).
Central Mountain has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Selinsgrove, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Central Mountain skirted past the Seals 46-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Central Mountain have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
