Spectrum won the last time they met up with Edison, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Everything came up roses for Spectrum against Edison on Friday as the team secured a 66-8 victory. Followers of Spectrum probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
The contest started off well for Spectrum, whose offense put up 46 first-half points. Meanwhile, Edison couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 46-0 heading into the break. The Spectrum defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match. The win bumped Spectrum's record up to 4-0. The loss dropped Edison's record to 1-3.
Spectrum will look to defend their home turf next week against Harding at 4:00 PM. Spectrum are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Harding are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses. As for Edison, they will face off against Humboldt. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
