The Santa Cruz Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven  matchups by 21  points or more this season. Everything went their way against Soquel on Friday as Santa Cruz made off with a  51-25 victory. The  victory was familiar territory for Santa Cruz who now have three in a row.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Cruz to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Natalia Espinosa, who  scored five points along with six  rebounds and five  assists.  Tiera Oconnor was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 11 points and ten  rebounds.
 Santa Cruz's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-5. As for Soquel,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-6.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Cruz will  square off against Scotts Valley at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Scotts Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 848th, while Santa Cruz is ranked 282nd). As for Soquel, they will head out on the road to face off against Aptos at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
