Trinity Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the LaGrange Grangers  a   9-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Mary Ruth Adkins made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Shiloh Stewart, who  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Makenzie Knowles, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Trinity Christian is set to  take on  their familiar foe Spalding  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, LaGrange will  square off against  rival Fayette County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
