The Ferndale Wildcats had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 58-54 win over Upper Lake. That's another feather in the cap for Ferndale, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ferndale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reaghan Langer out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Michaela Ellsmore, who scored 14 points.
Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Upper Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Ferndale won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cloverdale at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Upper Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ukiah at 7:00 p.m. Ukiah comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
