It was a good run, but the Springside Chestnut Hill Academy Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Academy of the New Church 80-76. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy has not had much luck with Academy of the New Church recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Academy of the New Church's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tobe Nwobu, who scored 22 points along with 5 steals. Dior Carter was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Academy of the New Church, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy will head out on the road to face off against Hill School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy of the New Church, they will take on McDonogh at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
