Baseball Recap: Rancho Cucamonga Wins Going Away Against Etiwanda

While Rancho Cucamonga put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Etiwanda. The Cougars blew past the Eagles 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Rancho Cucamonga's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Grant Thomas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Thomas a new career-high. Another was Brock Foulds, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one double.

Rancho Cucamonga was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Etiwanda only posted a batting average of .160.

Rancho Cucamonga's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Etiwanda, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11-1.

Looking ahead, Rancho Cucamonga is taking a road trip to challenge Chino Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 1.9, the Huskies 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Etiwanda, they will welcome Centennial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
