Alex Crosno and Ethan Rickert were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Crosno kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Rickert struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave Crosno a new career-high. At bat, Crosno went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple, while Rickert scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Max Wolf was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Bradshaw Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Amador put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Rosemont. Amador walked away with a 4-0 victory over Rosemont. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buffaloes.
Amador's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brad Blankenheim, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Bradshaw Christian's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Amador, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1.
Amador's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bradshaw Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. It's a different story for Amador, though, as they've only averaged .343. Will they be able to contain Bradshaw Christian's hitters?
Everything went Bradshaw Christian's way against Amador when the teams last played on March 11th, as Bradshaw Christian made off with an 11-1 win. Will Bradshaw Christian repeat their success, or does Amador has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
