Baseball Recap: Rialto Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Rialto ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bloomington Bruins 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Izzeah Zepeda was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Isaac Carrillo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Zepeda wasn't the only one making solid contact: Rialto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Rialto pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Bloomington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Rialto will challenge Colton at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bloomington, they will square off against Grand Terrace at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
