Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the California Lutheran C-Hawks couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a hard 51-34 fall against the Cardinals on Thursday. It was the first time this season that California Lutheran let down their fans at home.
Loss or not, California Lutheran got some senior leadership from Julia Ash and Allison Schroeder. Ash scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Schroeder. scored five points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
California Lutheran's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-3. As for Whittier, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-17.
California Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Whittier's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Jacinto at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. San Jacinto knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Whittier likes a good challenge.
