Even though Newbury Park has not done well against Calabasas recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Newbury Park strolled past Calabasas with points to spare, taking the game 48-33. Given Newbury Park's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Calabasas is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Newbury Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kierabella Coletta-Todd out in front who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Coletta-Todd has scored at least a third of Newbury Park's points. Kimiko Carmer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
