Laurel has gone a perfect 4-0 against Sidney recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Locomotives will face off against the Eagles at 3:00 p.m.
Laurel managed to slip by Beaverhead County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Locomotives came up short against the Beavers on Saturday, falling 10-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Locomotives couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four matchup, Sidney brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on Shepherd with a sharp 12-2 victory on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Brody Verhasselt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Verhasselt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sidney got a massive performance out of Treyce Bower, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Bower a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Holden Boehler, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Laurel's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Sidney, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-11.
