Moreau Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 19-11 margin over the American Canyon Wolves. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Mariners, who until this matchup were averaging three runs allowed.

Benji Fuentes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Marks, who went 3-for-5 with six runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those six runs gave him a new career-high.
