Granite Hills is 8-2 against El Capitan since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Vaqueros at 4:00 p.m. Granite Hills is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Granite Hills and Helix, and Granite Hills kept the tradition alive. The Eagles walked away with a 6-2 win over the Scotties on Wednesday.
Hoss Harper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Miotti, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times he's played. Maddox Baird also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
El Capitan came out on top against Valhalla on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Vaqueros blew past the Norsemen 9-2. The victory continues a trend for the Vaqueros in their matchups with the Norsemen: they've now won six in a row.
Seth Walker looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because El Capitan is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-13-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Ethan Soule was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Powers, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
El Capitan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Granite Hills' record is now 18-5. As for El Capitan, their record now sits at 10-14-1.
Granite Hills skirted past El Capitan 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
