Having just played yesterday, the Cochranton Cardinals will jump right back in to play the Greenville Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Cochranton wrapped up 2023 with a 57-40 victory over Sharpsville. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cochranton.
Cochranton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Macie Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Williams continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby McBryar, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Greenville beat Cambridge Springs 44-32 last Thursday.
Cochranton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Greenville, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Cochranton lost to Greenville on the road by a decisive 39-23 margin in their previous meeting on December 7th. Can Cochranton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
