The Piqua Indians had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 victory over Troy on Tuesday. For Piqua, this counts as revenge for the 62-54 loss Troy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Mickey Anderson was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 22 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jay Hancock, who scored 13 points.
Piqua's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Troy, they bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Piqua will face off against Xenia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Xenia is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Troy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
