Another player making a difference was  David Baralt Portillo, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Independence was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .389. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Independence is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lindsay,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-7-1.
 Independence has already played their next contest,  an  8-4  defeat against Monache on the 15th. As for Lindsay, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  13-11  loss against Arvin on the 15th.
