The Hesperia Christian Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Victor Valley Jackrabbits at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hesperia Christian has three straight wins, Victor Valley has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, everything went Hesperia Christian's way against Academy for Academic Excellence as Hesperia Christian made off with a 12-5 victory.

Luke Beasley and Nathaniel Renner made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Beasley struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Renner pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Beasley went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Renner scored two runs and stole a base. Beasley has become a key player for Hesperia Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabe Sanchez, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Hesperia Christian is undefeated when Sanchez posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cory Villalba, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Hesperia Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, Victor Valley suffered their closest defeat since March 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sultana by a score of 4-2.
Tyler Aguilar was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Victor Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Yepez, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Victor Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hesperia Christian, their record is now 5-6.
