Two weeks ago, South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] faced Kidder County co-op [Steele-Dawson/Tappen] in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 51-6 win over Kidder County co-op [Steele-Dawson/Tappen]. Fans of South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Connor Kosiak had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 331 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Kosiak is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Stock, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot offensive attacks in their last four match, Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They were dealt a 50-12 loss at the hands of Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn. Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.
Although Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood took the loss, they still got scores from Jaren Mattern and Reyden Beck.
South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley]'s win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.8 points per game. As for Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
