Softball Recap: Crisp Academy Finds Home Field Redemption Against Windsor Academy

There's no place like home for Crisp Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Windsor Academy Knights on Thursday as they made off with a 9-3 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Laura Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Evans was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ansley Simpson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Wildes, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Crisp Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Windsor Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Crisp Academy is taking a road trip to take on Fullington Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Windsor Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Robert Toombs Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m.
