The Perris Panthers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Citrus Hill 35-34 on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Perris, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Perris to victory were E'Niece Ray and Alia Martin. Ray scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Martin scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season.
Perris' victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Citrus Hill, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Perris will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against San Jacinto at 5:30 p.m. San Jacinto knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Perris likes a good challenge. Citrus Hill on the road again on Monday and play against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
