The Bladensburg Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North 56-54. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bladensburg also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Owolabi, who scored seven points along with six blocks. Another player making a difference was Jayden Austin, who scored 13 points.
Bladensburg's victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
