It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Chaminade Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Harvard-Westlake 61-59. 61 seems to be a good number for Chaminade as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
When it comes to explaining why Harvard-Westlake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Deana Thompson. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentina Guerrero, who scored 12 points.
Chaminade's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-10. As for Harvard-Westlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-17.
Chaminade does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Harvard-Westlake also has no future games currently scheduled.
