The Columbia Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 66-52 fall against Purvis. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Columbia of the 75-53 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 9th.
Jacoby Robinson was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Purvis. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Judd Gipson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Columbia has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Purvis, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Columbia will take on Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Purvis, they will head out on the road to take on Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence County has insisted on making their lastfive contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-2 during that stretch of close contests.
