Rodriguez is 6-1 against Sheldon since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rodriguez Mustangs will welcome the Sheldon Huskies at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Rodriguez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Sacramento a 27-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won four in a row.
Carson Thompson tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Sean O'Connell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Beasley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Rodriguez hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacramento struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, everything went Sheldon's way against Leroy Greene Academy on Wednesday as Sheldon made off with an 11-0 win. Considering the Huskies have won three games by more than ten runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Javier Avalos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Sheldon is undefeated when Avalos posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Movari Leggett, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. David Matanane-Kennedy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases.
The victory got Sheldon back to even at 3-3. As for Rodriguez, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Rodriguez came out on top in a nail-biter against Sheldon in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, sneaking past 2-1. Will Rodriguez repeat their success, or does Sheldon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
