The Metter Tigers's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They had just enough and edged Screven County out 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Metter has posted yet this season.
Demarko Ward and Deven Oliver certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ward scored 11 points, while Oliver scored eight points.
Metter's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Screven County, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Metter will head out on the road to take on Emanuel County Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Emanuel County Institute is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Screven County, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Johnson County at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Johnson County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
