Basketball Recap: Livingston Takes a Loss

Livingston played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Beyer Patriots, falling 60-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered since February 8, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Livingston lost, don't look at Isabella Zazueta. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 19 en route to 22 points. That's the most points Zazueta has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalia Castro, who posted four points and five rebounds.

It was another big night for Kylie Kulina, who went 14 for 24 on her way to 30 points in addition to seven boards and three steals for Beyer. Another player making a difference was Nevayh Gonzales-Taylor, who had six points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Livingston's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Beyer, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Livingston will venture away from home to face off against Grace Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Grace Davis will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Livingston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Beyer, they will challenge Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Beyer has three straight victories, Central Valley has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
