The Farmersville Aztecs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 31 points or more this season. They breezed by Exeter on the road to the tune of 68-33. Farmersville's victory was all the more impressive since Exeter was averaging only 28 points allowed on the season.
Leading Farmersville to victory were Janessa Garza and Jazmaine Stewart. Garza dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Stewart dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 steals. The game was Garza's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Haylie Tassey was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Exeter lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kylie Dias, who scored 11 points along with six steals. Dias is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Georgia Lockett, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
The win was the eighth in a row for Farmersville, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Exeter, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farmersville and Central Valley Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central Valley Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 756th, while Farmersville is ranked 307th). As for Exeter, they will head out on the road to face off against Lindsay at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
