The Happy Camp Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They lost to Tulelake on the road by a decisive 43-26 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Happy Camp of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Tulelake found their leader in underclassman Alejandra Perez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Frey, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Happy Camp's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.5 points per game. As for Tulelake, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Happy Camp will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunsmuir at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tulelake, they will head out on the road to take on Surprise Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
