The Westwood Lumberjacks will head out on the road to challenge the Princeton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-21, which was the final score in Westwood's tilt against Plumas Charter on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westwood in their matchups with Plumas Charter: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Princeton got the win against Paradise Adventist Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 43-21. The victory was just what Princeton needed coming off of a 55-21 defeat in their prior match.
Princeton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Wills, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Wills has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Starlin Smith, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Princeton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.
Westwood ended up a good deal behind Princeton in their previous matchup two weeks ago, losing 32-18. Can Westwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
